When? The Virtual Race to Breakthrough can be completed at any time on Saturday, August 1st – Sunday, September 8th, 2024.
What? In support of Breakthrough Miami’s Scholars to provide many more years of Breakthroughs, we are challenging our race participants to choose ANY activity you’d like and measure it in increments of 30. Whether it is a 30 min walk, a 3.1-mile run, 3000 steps while shopping, 300 meters paddling, or even 30 push-ups – you choose and BE CREATIVE! Creativity counts!
Where? Anywhere! It’s a virtual race. You can participate in your own neighborhood, indoors on a treadmill or stationary bike, climb a mountain, or wherever you are in the world while remaining safe, of course. We have racers registered from all over the world – from Florida to London to Singapore!
What to wear? In addition to wearing your personalized race-day bib, show your #BreakthroughMiami spirit on race day by wearing your Breakthrough gear. Scholar, Volunteer, and Teaching Fellow t-shirts are welcome!
Be sure to:
- Print your bib at home on regular size paper.
- Customize your bib and share what you run for – examples: I run for EDUCATION EQUITY. I run for BREAKTHROUGHS. I run for OPPORTUNITIES, etc…
- Fasten with safety pins to your race day shirt.
- Take a selfie with your Breakthrough spirit and include your bib. Use this photo later for posting to social media and uploading to the post-race form.
- Share your race experience on social media to help spread the spirit of positivity during these uncertain times. Tag us @BreakthroughMiami and use #RaceToBreakthrough #IRACE4Breakthroughs #RaceFor30
