Breakthrough Miami Expands Partnership with Belen Jesuit to Launch New Host Site.

Breakthrough Miami is proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, which will become Breakthrough’s eighth official Host Site Partner to join our network. Beginning June 2025, Belen Jesuit will launch a year-round Breakthrough program on its campus with a full-time Site Director embedded in the school community.

The new site at Belen Jesuit will unlock new recruiting areas for Breakthrough to serve Scholars and families in the Western parts of Miami-Dade County. Kicking off this summer with the first classes of 5th and 6th graders, the site will grow to engage 180 Scholars annually. Belen students will have the opportunity to serve as Student Volunteer Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Teaching Fellows—mentoring younger Scholars and gaining hands-on experience as emerging educators and community leaders. The partnership will also provide opportunities to meaningfully engage Belen Jesuit’s parent, faculty, and alumni communities.

Through Breakthrough’s award-winning students-teaching-students model, Belen students can serve as instructors, mentors, and role models—leading project-based academic instruction, electives inspired by their interests, and activities focused on academic advising, leadership, and well-being. The Breakthrough model will be deeply integrated into campus life at Belen Jesuit, providing students with the opportunity to take on meaningful service leadership roles while living out the school’s Jesuit mission. Through this partnership, Belen students will not only support the academic growth of Breakthrough Scholars but will also gain valuable experience in teaching, communication, and leadership, developing a more profound sense of purpose and reinforcing the values of being Men for Others.

As a Host Site Partner, Belen joins a powerful network of schools committed to educational opportunity and excellence, alongside Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Gulliver Prep, Miami Country Day School, Palmer Trinity School, Ransom Everglades School, Saint Andrew’s School, and the University of Miami.
